Wine-based liquor: real cocktail taste on a beer & wine license

Specialty Blends’ wine-based liquors are crafted to stand in for tequila, vodka, gin, rum, whiskey, and triple sec — but because they’re wine-based, no more than 24% ABV, your business can pour them on the beer & wine permit you already hold. No liquor license, no full bar, no compromise on taste.

Texas-made since 1998 · Texas’ first & largest wine-based liquor producer
What is wine-based liquor?

Real cocktail taste, wine-based legality

Wine-based liquor starts from a fermented wine base and is crafted to deliver the flavor and character of a distilled spirit — up to 24% alcohol by volume. Because it’s legally wine, not distilled liquor, establishments holding a beer & wine permit can serve it without a full liquor license. Our customers put it simply: it doesn’t taste like a wine cooler — it tastes like a real cocktail.

Every Specialty Blends wine-based liquor is gluten-free, non-GMO, made with no sulfites, and shelf-stable for two years. Made in Dripping Springs, Texas since 1998.

Why businesses pour wine-based

Three reasons this category exists

The license unlock

≤24% ABV wine base means it serves on a standard beer & wine permit. A cocktail menu without a liquor license.

Real taste

“It doesn’t taste like a wine cooler — it tastes like a real margarita.” Guests get the genuine drink, not a compromise.

Real margins

Cocktail pricing on beer & wine overhead — the highest-margin pours on your menu.

Wine-based liquor questions

Straight answers

Is wine-based liquor real alcohol?

Yes — up to 24% ABV, fermented from a wine base. It’s a real drink, not a zero-proof substitute.

Do I need a liquor license to serve it?

Not in Texas — because it’s legally wine (≤24% ABV), it serves on a beer & wine permit. Other states are confirmed individually.

Does it taste like wine?

No — that’s the point. Each product is crafted to taste like the spirit it replaces: tequila, vodka, gin, rum, whiskey, triple sec.

Can I taste before I buy?
